In the rural villages of Nepal poverty is extreme and life is a daily struggle. Unemployment is high and many women who need to work to help support their families cannot find work. Many youth, especially girls, are recruited from rural villages with the promise of good jobs but often become victims of human trafficking or modern day slavery.
By sponsoring a weaving apprentice you can give these women a skill that will enable them to earn a living wage and support their families.
$30 WILL FUND A WEAVING APPRENTICESHIP
A monthly donation of $30 for 12 months will provide the tools and training for one weaver apprentice.
The women we train are unemployed and struggling. Many know how to weave but are not currently making a living as a weaver or have worked as part of a team making commercial garments. Your donation provides the tools and equipment needed for an apprentice to become a successful commercial weaver.
We teach them how to follow patterns, how to maintain consistency and quality and how to manage their time when making garments for sale in a global market. Hands of Nepal provides weaving supplies, equipment and training for these women to become successful commercial weavers.
OUR 100% COMMITMENT
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the donated funds we receive from you are sent to and used for the support of the weaving apprentice and bringing their products to the global market. We do not use any of these funds for our expenses such as overhead, administration, travel, etc.
