Our Cashmere
Our cashmere is the gathered from Hircus goats of inner Mongolia, where they have been nurtured and cared for over hundreds of years, forming a lineage of the finest cashmere wool.
Since our beginning, we have maintained a close relationship with our supplier of cashmere wool in order to ensure the proper and humane care of every one of our goats.
The reason why cashmere is so rare and sought out after is because not only does it come from scarce parts of Asia, but a single goat only produces 4 ounces of cashmere fiber a year ; meaning it takes a year’s worth of harvesting a single goat’s moulting to make one of our scarves. The end result is definitely worth it, as the pieces woven from these fibers provide excellent insulation for warmth, as well providing a lovely softness that makes it one of the most luxurious fabrics in the world.
Each of our scarves undergoes 12 different hand processes from the preparation of the loom to the finishing and packing. To begin the process, our cashmere scarves are woven using traditional hand-looms by Bengali weaving masters. These weavers use only the traditional weaving patterns of diamonds, twill, herringbone, and basket weave. After the weaving has finished, each scarf is dyed using Swiss Eco-Friendly dyes by Archroma and Huntsman and are laid out to dry. Each scarf is always double checked to ensure flawless quality before being shipped out to its new home.
